I would like to take a new brochure entitled „Vienna. The Digital City” as a starting point to discuss the meaning of Vienna as maybe “THE” IT location in the Centrope region with you. Not only this brochure but also other statistics and studies show the innovation process of Vienna as an IT location and its increasing significance for the Centrope region.
But what is the perspective of the neighbouring countries?
Of course the facts show the progress Vienna has already achieved: Vienna is apart from London and Munich the third most important IT location in Europe, along with Helsinki.
But what do you think about the IT location Vienna? What are your experiences and what could be improved/changed? Is your impression of Vienna as the center of Centrope’s IT sector the same?
Is there maybe another point of view that does not correspond to these statistics? What are your business experiences here in Vienna concerning the cooperation with regional companies?

P.S. This comprehensive brochure available in English points out the importance of the Viennese IT sector and the relevant IT technology fields. A further goal is to improve ICT activities in Austria and abroad. Furthermore the brochure also includes a short leaflet indicating the most important facts and figures. It has been edited by a Municipal Department of the city of Vienna (Magistratsabteilung 27) in cooperation with Vienna IT Enterprises. Mr. Günther Krumpak was in charge of the textual design.
