European Intercluster and other events

Here are a couple of upcoming events which may be interesting for CITT project partners as well others.

The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) has organised an information event called “Förderungen für innovative Regionen”, mainly for Austrian companies and institutions, about the possible support for innovative regions in Vienna. This event takes place on November 11, 2008.

I agreed with the FFG representatives that we will have the opportunity to present the CITT project, as we were part of the first round of projects supported within FP7 Regions of Knowledge. One of the goals of FFG/Austrian Research Promotion Agency is to promote European programmes, and they also provide their services as Austrian national info point for FP7.

For those interested in this event, please refer to the FFG website as they have their own calendar of own events which is updated regularly. By the way, Mr Weiers, the ex-project officer of the CITT project is also taking part at this event.

Another, bigger event takes place in Paris on 17th -18th of November 2008. The Paris Region Innovation Tour (PRIT) and Europa Intercluster are organising a common event and welcome European clusters and their members to come and meet six competitive clusters and their members of the Paris Region: Cap Digital, Systematic, Mov’éo, Advancity, Astech,  Finance and Innovation.

This event is a great opportunity for clusters and members to meet and exchange. Bernhard Schmid and I participated during last year at one of the Intercluster events where we presented the CITT project during the presentation round of European cluster and initiatives/projects which support networking and clustering mainly in Europe.

Vlastimil Vesely already mentioned the ICT Event which takes places on November 25-27, 2008 in Lyon. As the purposes of our project activities seemed to match, Mr Günther Krumpak was so kind and asked about the possibility of actively participating as the CITT group at this event. However, the organisers informed us that the next possibility for us to actively participate will be only next year.

So, hopefully, next year we will have the possibility to present the results of the project. But maybe somebody of you will visit the conference this year and can provide us with insight on the various activities taking place there.
