Best practices from cluster initiatives

I still wonder whether somebody of you is aware of a website where organisers share their planned events not to compete for the limited attention of the same target groups. Or can we list at least the main ICT innovation events held regularly in our region? This is certainly one of the questions to be asked when developing our cluster strategy next year.

We are discussing with Gunther Krumpak what upcoming events would be the most relevant to presenting the CITT outcomes or to collecting experience and best practices. Let me start with two to be held in Moravia in early October. On Oct 2-3 there will be a national cluster conference in Zlin and one week later (Oct 6-9) the international ICT Invex fair & exhibition in Brno. I will attend the both and would be happy to meet with you there.

No doubt much more attention will be paid to two global events organised by the major international cluster initiatives. The 11th annual global conference of the Competitiveness Institute will take place in Cape Town (Oct 29-31) and the Europe Innova conference in Lyon (Oct 22-24) where the Cluster Manager Award and the Network of the Year will be awarded.

What other ICT or cluster related events are you aware of? What events do you regularly attend in your region?

as far as I know, there is no international or at least CENTROPE Innovation event calendar.

we started a few years ago a initiative to establish a calender (of IT events) in Austria or at least in Vienna. as a result we use this caledar for VITE (www.vite.at -> “dates” or “termine”), the complete calendar can be seen on: http://www.it-termine.at/ which is powerded by computerwelt, a austrian IT professional journal.

It is a good idea, to establish such a calendar, although not very easy to realize (how can we enforce all the players to post their events just there?)

Thank you, Bernhard, for providing the example. I understand it’s not easy and would appreciate any more info. For example how many nation-wide IT events does it cover (your rough estimation in %)?

Do you know any other example, for example from non-IT area and with only regional reach? Did you have any inspiration when building it? Thank you.
